One of the best articles we have read in a long time was titled "The Web is Dead : What Happened and Why" it was published in 2010 in Wired Magazine. What happened are apps mainly of the Social Media genre.

Today's internet is not how we remember it 20, 10, even 5 years ago! Today's internet consists of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and many other social media applications that are designed to keep people in touch all the while marketing your product to people that these websites know are interested in it. Facebook alone has over six million data points it can collect on someone, although that's a lot of data, I can assure you they know how to use it and they do. All you have to do to test out how well they can use the data is to change your religious affiliation on your Facebook page for one day, then you will have a better understanding of how well they use their data.
